Cyber Media Guidelines

Freedom of speech, freedom of expression, and freedom of the press are fundamental human rights protected by Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of the United Nations.

The existence of cyber media in Indonesia is also part of the exercise of freedom of speech, freedom of expression, and freedom of the press.

Cyber media has distinct characteristics, which require specific guidelines to ensure that its management is carried out professionally, fulfilling its functions, rights, and obligations in accordance with Law Number 40 of 1999 concerning the Press and the Journalistic Code of Ethics.

Therefore, the Press Council, together with press organizations, cyber media managers, and the public, has developed these Cyber Media Guidelines.
